| For Deirdre McLary, the enchanting miracle of the birth of her own three children has created a profound understanding that each woman deserves the birth she truly desires. Her talent for listening and her respect for individual choice make her a compassionate and wise addition to any birth team or as mentor on your childbirth journey. In her search for healing and education after the birth of her daughter by cesarean section in 1997, Deirdre began her career as a birth advocate for women and their families. In 1999 Deirdre gave birth to her son exactly as she knew she could, in a spiritual and supported way, surrounded by a community of loved ones, caregivers, and doulas who nurtured her on her journey. And in 2004 birthed her third child surrounded by the same compassion, respect and support. |

Deirdre brings to her work the combined power and experience of her long devotion to Women's Mysteries and spiritual work with her ten year journey through learning and exploring birth healing, education and empowerment. With mentors such as Pam England, Ina May Gaskin, Jeannine Pavarti Baker and local metropolitan area Wise Women, Deirdre uses Birthing From Within and intuitive parenting and birthing as her approach to teaching, doula care and classes.
She holds professional affiliations with Doulas of North America (DONA), Association of Labor Assistants & Childbirth Educators (ALACE), International Cesarean Awareness Network (ICAN), BirthNet, Hudson Valley Birth Network, River Doulas, La Leche League, and Birthing From Within. She is currently enrolled in the National College of Midwifery and is working towards her CPM.
Deirdre began her journey in New York City and was part of the early inception of The Metropolitan Doula Group. She sat as a council member with MDG for three years. She moved to Rockland in 2002 where she founded Nyack Birth Services and continues with her first love, labor support, by working with families and attending births in Rockland County and the surrounding areas. She is the facilitator of the Expectant Family Programming at The Rockland Parent Child Center and teaches classes, facilitates rituals and circles, leads breastfeeding and newborn classes, is a La Leche League leader and creates birth awareness & empowerment for any one who seeks it. In 2007 she created River Doulas, a community modeled after MDG for Hudson River Valley area doulas to manifest further growth, empowerment and community awareness (www.riverdoulas.com).

Ariana Breganti has always held sacred Women's Space and journeying. With an intuitive gift, Ariana manifests an abundance of trust, compassion and love in all that she gives to her families. She is uniquely qualified to help mothers transition through the many mysteries and challenges of pregnancy, childbirth and the post partum period.
Birth wisdom came to Ariana at an early age. She gave birth to her first son when she was nineteen and is very in tune to the challenges and nuances that teen and young mothers face. Motherhood was a conscious and profound transition for her, even at such a young age, and were it not for the spiritual connectivity with wiser women and the soulful teachings they gave her, she might not have triumphed through the difficult times. |

Ariana holds profound gratitude for the lineage of passed wisdom she has been fortunate enough to be on the receiving end of.
Spiritual Midwifery by Ina May Gaskin, the first book Ariana read while pregnant, set her on the course of building a professional career out of her instincts to serve women in childbirth. Her son as born joyously with midwives at Nyack Hospital in 1999. In further journeying through the mysteries and power of birth, in 2001 she saw Ina May speak and chose homebirth for her second. Soon there after her second son was born blissfully and powerfully into her arms at home.
Ariana is a DONA certified labor support and post partum doula. She has trained with and holds professional affiliations with DONA, CAPPA, La Leche League, Lamaze - Passion for Birth, River Doulas, Lindsay Sass Aurand.s Infant Massage training through The Hearts of Light Institute, and is currently enrolled at The National College of Midwifery working towards her CPM.
She works with families at the beginning of life and has pursued end of life transition work as well spending time working with Hospice of Rockland country.
Honoring all human transitions and seeing families safely through these passages with trust and compassion is something Ariana holds sacred. Creating spiritual and safe spaces for women is her calling, creating a gentle order and flow during transitions, and helping to clarify emotional and personal goals and visions. Who were you before?
